Hi everyone,
I'm Annette from Wikia, and I'm working on a fun program upcoming around designing the ultimate Mad Men Cocktail Party menu.
Here's the idea:
- Wikia would create a post that asks users from around Wikia to nominate their favorite cocktails in four categories and one hors d'oeuvres item.
- We post the recipes for the cocktails and food in Top 10 lists, asking people to vote up the recipes they love most.
- After voting closes, we on the Wikia staff will prepare the final menu of five items and then serve those drinks and dishes to Wikia's San Francisco office team! We promise to take photos.
- We'll also ask any Wikians who host their own party (particularly if you host a Finale party) to please their own photos!
We're planning to launch …

It is simple really!
When I first tuned in on the show, it was on Netflix, it almost being a 5 star rating I decided to give it a shot! And I fell in love!
The realism, the great acting, writing, directing, it made me fall in love with such things like Mad Men!

Season 6 of Mad Men FINALLY premiered last night, and there were some pretty interesting moments! In the 2 hour-long premiere, a LOT of things happened, so here's a quick recap of some of the most important, and some of the weirdest, moments!
SPOILER ALERT! - Megan is an actress now! Now she’s on daytime TV and getting recognized, and she’s happy as opposed to last season when she was almost as depressed as Don.
- Roger Sterling's mother passed away and he ended up comforting his secretary with a drink in each hand before breaking down into tears after getting a shoe shine kit from Giorgio.
- Don's fear of death invaded his ad-campaign vision and it nearly cost the firm an account. Actually the entire episode Don is his brooding self.
- Another crazy mom…

Season 6 is so close!! I've been thinking about what might be in store for us, and I'm going out on a limb (more so on some than others) with a few predictions of my own:
- Don will cheat on Megan (thank you, Captain Obvious), but I think he really does respect and love Megan, so I think he'll actually feel bad about it. (way to make strides, double-D)
- Joan will be objectified less - now that she's a partner. (hoping I'm wrong here)
- Roger will do more drugs. (after all, this is the dawning of the age of Aquarius...)
- Peggy will flourish in Manhattan. She really has built a great life for herself, and now that Don isn't holding her back, I think her character is going to experience a lot of growth this season. We will almost certainly see a whole ne…

Don't Look In The Mirror: Reflections on MAD MEN Season 5 is a collection of episode analyses by Wikia contributor John Doherty. Doherty is a caricaturist and illustrator, and MAD MEN fan. Last year he began posting recaps with analysis of episodes on his website, and in 2013 he collected these and added sketches of characters from the show with each chapter and then published this work of criticism on Amazon. Doherty seeks to note the in-jokes, undercurrents, overall themes, puns, multiple meanings and any other "easter eggs" he can find in the scripts as presented on the show. http://www.amazon.com/Dont-Mirror-Reflections-Season-ebook/dp/B00BLS2IQ4/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1363287540&sr=1-1

I've started re-editing Season 1, finished Smoke Gets In Your Eyes today, take a peek. Ive added much more detail and screencaps. Ill start Season's 2, 3 and 5 as soon as I've finished Season 1. :)
Just a quick update! Happy Editing.

Ok guys, I have created a page called Joan and Roger - it isnt complete so feel free to contribute. There are things that need to go on, such as screencaps and I havent gotten round to doing a bit of a audience commentary on that page yet, but ill get done in the next couple of weeks or so...
One of my primary focuses is getting screencaps for seasons 2 and 3, and since I get most of my screencaps from my dvds, I have run the episode to get the necessary captures and each episode is about 45 mins long as you well know, and that alone can take up so much time. However tomorrow night is my night off, so that is what I'll be doing.
Happy editing everyone. x

Hey guys, so while I'm still editing Season 4, I created a new page...its called Joan and Greg and its linked to both Greg Harris and Joan Harris' pages, so if you wanna spare a few minutes check that out!
I basically got the inspiration to do a Joan and Greg page after visiting a few other wikia pages and seeing that on different wikia's have pages for couples, so I thought why not do one for Joan and Greg since there is so much to be said! I've also included a few analyical commentaries on the page from an audience members perspective, so have a look and tell me what you think.
Im also rewatching Seasons 2 and 3 to gather screen captures for those Seasons, which I will get a start on after I finish Season 4. Also after doing a Greg and Joa…

Ok, really got my eyes glued to my laptop and made a few observational notes in terms of reading into the Mad Men narrative as a whole and come up with the following conclusions and predictaments.
Firstly let me say that Season 4: Restructuring is well on its way, the completed episodes are (Note that the episodes marked with a [*] are episodes without quotes sections:
- Public Relations*
- Christmas Comes But Once a Year
- The Good News
- The Rejected *
- The Chrysanthemum and The Sword*
- Waldorf Stories*
- The Suitcase
Also I have been thinking about costuming and wardrobe fit into many of the character's narrative journey, focusing primarily on the women of Mad Men and to be honest I think it'll be worth mentioning how wardrobe plays an intricate part in tel…

Although I've started uploading pictures and restructurning Season 5 - its far from finished! I'm still waiting on my Mad Men Season 5 dvd, so can get more screencaps and it'll be much easier for me when it comes to updating the synopsis' and what not.
In the mean time however, I'm gonna get a crack onto Season 4...
...Until next time, see you later x

Finally finished restructuring Season 1, it took time but now it looks MUCH better - super syked about it! :D All episode for Season 1 now have screencaps, content boxes, episode thumbnails, a mini-synopsis, a fully detailed synopsis and not all episodes have quotes sections yet, but I'll get round to it! :D...roll on Season 2.Here is a list of the Season one episodes without quotes sections:Marriage of FigaroNew Amsterdam5GRed in the FaceThe Hobo CodeIndian SummerNixon vs. Kennedy
Happy Editing. xSCRATCH THAT! - Just decided I'm not satisfied with Season One, and it will be something I will be revisiting later...

I've nearly finished restructuring Season 1, not finished yet, but will be in the next couple of days. Now each episode should have a contents box, an episode thumbnail, a mini-synopsis; separate from the detailed synopsis (for those who don't want spoilers), screencaps and a quotes section. Also each "cast" section now have sub-sections, just to make the episode look cleaner.
Soon I'll be on to cleaning up Season 2 :)
Happy Editing. x

Thumbnail day :) Every episode should have a thumbnail now, to sort of indicate roughly what the episode is about, check those out. And finished updating Seasons 1, 2 and 3 in terms of uploading thumbnails onto the episode tables. Every episode and Seasons 1, 2 and 3 pages look much cleaner now.
Toodle-y-do for now. x

Been a busy bunny, uploading quite pictures to different articles - just a few I'm insanely proud of are Joan Harris, The Beautiful Girls, Hands and Knees, Dark Shadows are examples of articles I re-wrote, I know already people have contributed to the Joan Harris page already, so thank you for that - let me know what you think. Also I've been adding various pictures/screen-caps to different episodes - I've already covered half of Season 5 - also including a "Quotes" section. Again let me know what you think, I've started to re-structure Greg Harris; it isn't finished yet but will be soon, along with other episodes I've started but not finished yet.
That's all for now.

Mad Men is such a visually stimulating show, isn't it? The costumes, the good-looking actors, the authenticity of the 1960s style...it's fantastic! Well, feast your eyes on the latest Mad Men portraits below. Like usual, Don Draper looks dashing and dark, and Sally Draper is looking positively pre-teen. And isn't it interesting seeing Peggy Olson in lime green instead of her usual office wear? Hmmm...

What's the best part of Mad Men? The fashion, obviously! Okay, men might disagree and say it's Christina Hendricks, but I think anyone can appreciate a good vintage-inspired outfit. The price of being like a celebrity may be going up.
That's because the price of a main ingredient in Don Draper's favored cocktail the Old Fashioned may be going up.
Bloomberg News has just reported that the U.K. government is seeking to abolish the tax relief on Angostura Bitters.
For those unfamiliar with the Prohibited era drink, the ingredients in the Old Fashioned are:
- 1 shot rye
- half-slice of orange
- 1 tsp sugar (or simple syrup)
- Angostura bitters
Angostura Bitters is a blend of herbs and spices made by Trinidad-based Angostura Ltd. that to date has been exempt from U.K. import duty. If the measure passes it could add as much as 2.28 pounds ($3.74) to the price of a single bottle. Yikes!

As many of us expected, the fifth season of Mad Men has been delayed. But how long you ask? Late summer? Early fall? Nope! You can expect to see more Don Draper in early 2012!
“AMC has officially authorized production of Season 5 of Mad Men, triggering our option with Lionsgate,” the cable network says in a statement released Tuesday morning. “While we are getting a later start than in years past due to ongoing, key non-cast negotiations, Mad Men will be back for a fifth season in early 2012.”
Weiner’s prospective payday would make him the highest-paid showrunner in the business, leading at least one peer to question his stance on the seemingly sensible sticking points. “You can’t ask a network for 10 million [dollars], then bitch when they …

We may be freaking out about the lack of any concrete news about season 5 of Mad Men, but the cast doesn't seem worried about it. The lovely, January Jones visited Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa this morning and gave a few hints about what "could" happen next season...
Pushing for details, Philbin managed to get Jones' prediction about what's in store for Betty and newly-betrothed Don Draper. "Now we'll both be married to different people," she says. "So we'll have an affair with each other."

If you missed my previous blog, The Killing tells the story of a small town pulled apart by the murder of a young girl (not unlike Twin Peaks). It was inspired by the Danish sensation, Forbrydelsen and promises to be a hard-boiled thriller in the vein of crime novelists Henning Mankell and the late Stieg Larssonn's (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) work.
It sounds like it could be a good antidote to the Mad Men Blues... Or you can always try Breaking Bad. I just caught up and it is amazing!Source: Hollywood.com
