Biography[]
Harold Ford was an employee of London-based advertising firm Puttnam, Powell, and Lowe.
Herman Phillips, believing that he was going to be let go from Sterling Cooper Advertising Agency after a string of disappointments, met with Powell and Alec Martin to propose that PP&L buy out Sterling Cooper. Powell convinced him to have a drink, either unaware or uncaring of Herman Phillips's drinking habit. Powell eventually made an offer that was acceptable to Herman Phillips. ("The Jet Set")
At the meeting to discuss the upcoming merger with Sterling Cooper, Ford sat in on the meeting where PP&L realized that Herman Phillips is "not their man." After the merger is complete, Herman Phillips was quietly fired. ("Meditations in an Emergency")
