This morning the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced their nominees for the 63rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, and Mad Men is leading the pack with 19 nominations.
The sharply observed view of 1960s America has a chance to repeat for a fourth time as TV's best drama, while sharply dressed stars Jon Hamm and Elisabeth Moss will compete for lead acting honors. Other leading nominees include the Prohibition-era drama Boardwalk Empire, sitcom Modern Family, Saturday Night Live" and fantasy saga Game of Thrones.
Mad Men of course has won best drama statuette three years running, but last years season was watched by less than $3 million viewers, seemingly opening the door for the wildly popular Game of Thrones.
The Emmy ceremony is scheduled to air on Fox on Sept. 18. For a full list of the nominees, see here.
